Joan Miró is a world famous painter and sculptor. He was born on Mallorca and he lived and worked here for the 30 later years of his life. The museum is situated in his old house and also in a newly build art museum. Here you can view about 6000 pieces of his work. He is one of the artists which left the most pieces to the world after his death. There are paintings, drawings, graphical work, sculptures, ceramic pieces and collages to view. There is also a small shop where you can buy souvenirs with Miró motives. The museum was opened in 1992 and the studio which he used still stands untouched for your viewing. You can peek in through a window.
