Almudaina

almudaina_1.jpg

Almudaina is a palace which was the entail of the Arabic rulers on the island. Since then there has been many reconstructions and restorations on the building. The way it looks today is the same that it has looked since the 1500´s. Today the palace is King Juan Carlos official government building which he uses during his stays on Mallorca. The palace is located right across from the cathedral in Palma. Today Almudaina is also the headquarter for the legislative and military power on the island. You can go on a guided tour and there is also a museum in the older part of the palace. There are also some Islamic influences such as the beautiful windows on the palace.
